More Than a STEM Class
At The Discovery Lab & Learning Center, every session is intentionally designed by an experienced educator, state Certified teacher with a passion for working with children. Guiding them to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and help children develop academically, socially, and emotionally through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Rather than teaching subjects in isolation, we integrate learning naturally through engaging projects that encourage children to think critically, collaborate, communicate, and create.
Every Discovery Lab session includes:
🧪 Project-Based STEM Learning: Hands-on science, engineering, technology, and design challenges that encourage curiosity and creative problem-solving.
📚 Reading & Literacy: Authentic reading experiences that build comprehension, vocabulary, communication, and a lifelong love of learning.
✍️ Writing & Communication: Journals, storytelling, research, presentations, and reflection connected to each project.
➗ Mathematics in Action: Real-world math through measurement, budgeting, data collection, geometry, estimation, and problem-solving.

Hi, I'm Lori Lerman, a Florida-certified educator with more than 14 years of classroom experience, plus many years working with children through camps, youth organizations, and community programs.
I created The Discovery Lab and Learning Center because I believe children learn best when they are actively engaged, asking questions, solving problems, and building confidence -- not simply memorizing information for a test.
Every session is intentionally designed to inspire curiosity, encourage creativity, strengthen academic skills, and help children develop meaningful social connections in a supportive small-group environment.
My goal is to create a place where children love to learn and parents know their child is being challenged, encouraged, and truly seen.
